About Future Girl Entrepreneurs

We believe that every girl with an entrepreneurial vision deserves the opportunity to turn her dreams into a reality.

Even though 78% of girls want to be entrepreneurs, less than 2% of VC funding goes to female-only founded companies.

We're here to help level the playing field by giving girls the necessary education, skills, and connections to be able to successfully secure VC funding in the future.

Our annual contest gives aspiring girl entrepreneurs a chance to work with female mentors to develop their business plans and pitch for investment.

Frequently Asked Questions

What differentiates FGE is that we're specifically focused on helping girls learn how to access capital. We realize that although 78% of girls want to be entrepreneurs and 42% of businesses in the US are women-owned, less than 2% of VC funding goes to female-only founded companies. Even though not all companies need VC funding to succeed, many do, and female founders should not be limited by which industries they can prosper in. Our goal by not only educating girls about Venture Capital but also providing them with mentorship and connections is to change the odds so that today's young girls can achieve their dreams and become the successful entrepreneurs of tomorrow.

The contest is open to girls 14 through 22 years old.

Each of the 5 winners will be paired up with at least 2 different mentors based on what would be most helpful for that winner's business idea that she submitted. They get the chance to meet with each mentor during one 30-minute session and one 45-minute session at different points throughout their process of developing their business ideas and preparing their decks to pitch to the panel of VCs.
